Weddings!

I love weddings! Who doesn't?! Katelyn and Patrick are tying the knot in less than two weeks now and Heather and Sam are less than a year away from their big day! I am so excited to be a part of both of them.

Heather recently asked me to be in her wedding- how cute are these?? May 21st will be here before we know it and I can't wait to help her prepare and plan until then.

Heather has also gotten me addicted to Style Me Pretty. There are some pretty awesome things going on in the wedding world. Don't worry, we all know I am not getting married anytime soon. A girl can dream, right?!

Are we really old enough to be getting married?! Yikes!

4. I love 4th of July festivities

5. I will be in Pittsburgh in 2 weeks for Katelyn and Patrick's Wedding

So many great things going on!!

Have a happy and safe 4th of July weekend!!

As promised...

These are in backwards order, so if you'd like to start at the bottom, that would be great. And I am sorry if it's super confusing- it's Blogger's fault, not mine.

And that brings us up to speed! Just a fun night out with the girls below.

Happy Birthday Moni!! Too bad the tiara didn't survive :(

Bree's wedding! Unfortunately it was pouring rain and about 45 degrees for her special day. But that didn't stop us. Even with our raincoats on, we had a great time. And Bree couldn't have been any more beautiful or happy!!

Happy Birthday Mom! Ruthie is a very good candle-blower-outter helper :)
Happy Summer! Snowmass finally livened up with the Chili Pepper Brew Fest the first weekend in June. We drank some good brews and tasted lots of chili! Brett Dennen, The Wailers and George Clinton put on some fun performances!

Bachelorette Party #2. Katelyn is getting married!! Memorial Day Weekend we all met in Chicago to celebrate! It was a fantastic mini Elon reunion and we also got to know her high school friends. Chicago is a great city- such a fun weekend.

Bachelorette Party #1. Bree and Kevin got married June 12th (see above) and we all hit the town mid-May to celebrate her last month of freedom!
Here is the fam in Pueblo, CO when we went to visit Lauren for the PBR event (no, not the beer, The Professional Bull Riders). We had a great time seeing where she currently resides and meeting all of her friends and co-workers. Of course Pete couldn't resist buying us our first real cowboy hats!

Oh Dear Blog!!

Yes, it's been over a month, I apologize to my loyal fans. A few weeks ago, I threw in the towel and decided there was just too much to catch up on and too much going on to keep up with the ol' blog. But today I realized I am not a quitter!
A lot has happened in the past 6 weeks, and I will attempt to catch up in my next post. Some highlights include: a trip to Pueblo, CO to visit Lu, Bachelorette Weekend in Chicago, and the beautiful Colorado summer we are having!!
Stay tuned!

Happy Birthday Linds!

Wish we were back in the OBX all celebrating together! Happy Birthday to my oldest, wisest and prettiest sister, Lindsay!!

America

On Wednesday night, I got paired with my Little Buddy, America! She is in third grade, and very excited to have a big buddy! My friend Thad (Kenzie's husband) also got paired with his little buddy, Roman, who is America's older brother. It was fun doing it together!

Happy Birthday Makenzie!

I would like to dedicate this post to my dear friend Makenzie who joins me at 25 today!

We've been friends since she moved to Basalt in 5th grade. Since then, we have had some crazy adventures together... like the time we went to Turkey for two months to be nannies!! People also used to get us confused- the matching raincoats above probably don't help much. My life wouldn't be the same without her in it and I am so thankful to have her as my friend!

Happy Birthday Ruthie!

Off to Virginia tomorrow for Maddie's graduation! Have a good weekend :)

It's Friday!

Don't worry, Erin, I didn't forget about my weekly Friday post, or my blog! Happy Friday to you too, girl!

Guess what?! It's snowing again! Crazy Colorado weather. Should actually make for some good skiing this weekend. Many people are very bitter about this storm interrupting spring, but really, what are you going to do about it?

This weekend is Ruthie's 2nd birthday party!! I can't believe she's 2! Where did the last two years go? I am looking forward to helping her celebrate.

Indigo Girls

Tuesday night Linds and I and a few friends went to see the Indigo Girls at our local concert venue. Although I feel like I've been listening to their music forever, I didn't really know what to expect. Let me tell you- I was blown away! They are obviously very talented musicians (switched instruments between every song), but they are also very down to earth and genuine. There were a few songs I didn't know, but of course they played the hits: Galileo, Get out the Map, Power of Two and Ghost. I am still singing Ghost today.

If you ever get the chance to see them, I highly recommend them! Their music will take you back to the days of casette tapes and good old Camp Wawenock! Oh yes, there was a girl in the crowd with their tape, and she had them both sign it- so cool!

Farewell Winter

Even though it will probably snow tomorrow, I think it's safe to say spring has taken over. The mountains are closed and town is dead. Hello off-season!!

Here are a few highlights from ski season:

Texts From Last Night

Last weekend, Alison and I ordered a pizza on our way home so that we could enjoy a nice cheese pizza shortly after we arrived back in Snowmass. Well, the delivery man beat us to my apartment, so we nicely asked him to leave the pizza on the counter and give himself a 20% tip, and he did. It was fantastic to come home to pizza already there.
We then shortly realized that it was pretty nice that we trusted the pizza delivery man, and that he trusted us. We live in a small town.
Then Alison being the genius Alison is sent a text in to tfln and it GOT POSTED! She's tried several times, and finally someone thought our text was post-worthy!!

(303): We told the pizza man that the door was most likely unlocked, he could leave the pizza on the counter and give himself 20%. He did it-I'm never moving out of Aspen.

Forwards

I rarely send forwards. Most of my friends only send the really good ones. And when I get the ones with the subject "Send to as many people as you can or you will die!" and I usually delete them. But I got this one yesterday from Heather and I thought it was great. I have to admit, I have thought about most of these things, several times.

Thought Provoking Statements:

1. Even when opportunity knocks, you still have to get off your ass and open the door.
2. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
3. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
4. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.
5. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
6. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
7. Was learning cursive really necessary?
8. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
9. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the Person died.
10. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.
11. Bad decisions make good stories.
12. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.
13. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.
14. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.
15. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.
16. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?
17. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.
18. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
19. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
20. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.
21. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.
22. I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.
23. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.
24. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
25. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?
26. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a dick from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!
27. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.
28. Is it just me or do high school kids get dumber & dumber every year?
29. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
30. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers.
31. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.
32. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my ass everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

Happy Friday!

Well, it's Friday, and surprise! It's snowing! I honestly feel like it's snowed the last 5 Fridays in a row! So right now it looks like this outside:
So instead of doing this this weekend:

I will be doing this!
Haha, have a fun and safe Easter weekend (or Passover). Lulu is coming home and I can't WAIT to see her!!

Ruthie

Last night Alison and I babysat for Ruthie. As we were putting her to bed, Alison pulled her Pumpkin Halloween costume out and asked her about it. She wore it when she was only 6 months old, so she didn't really remember or comment on it.
So this morning I get this picture text from Linds with the caption "she insisted on wearing the pumpkin outfit this morning". Ha, Linds obviously had no idea why Ruthie wanted to wear this to daycare, so I just told her the story.
Is Ruthie not the smartest almost two year old, ever?? She blows me away.

I love Rick's expression and pointing. So confused by his daughter.

Anyway, Happy April! Where did March go??

Don't get fooled today like I did last year by my little sister!!

The Hills!

Oh yes, can't wait for the drama!!

Passover

Last night, my friend Alison had a Passover Seder for her fellow familyless Jews in town. She graciously also invited the curious gentile, or as I learned last night, the shiksa, aka me! My first Jewish experience (aside from the 'Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad' show) was fascinating and delicious!
Here are some pics from the evening!
