The Hills!

Oh yes, can't wait for the drama!!

Passover

Last night, my friend Alison had a Passover Seder for her fellow familyless Jews in town. She graciously also invited the curious gentile, or as I learned last night, the shiksa, aka me! My first Jewish experience (aside from the 'Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad' show) was fascinating and delicious!
Here are some pics from the evening!

Life Without TV

So, I have a tv in my apartment, but I don't have cable. Before I moved upstairs to my current apartment, I lived in a smaller place where I could just connect the cable cord and have basic cable. It was great; itwas free!
When I moved upstairs, I didn't have the same luck. No idea why. This is where technology is confusing to me. I don't know if it's because I am lazy, cheap or just content, but I have yet to call Comcast to get it hooked up.
Luckily, you can watch just about anything online these days. Or you can Netflix it! So that's what I do. Yes, I have been asked what I do in my apartment without a tv, but it's actually not that bad!
My favorite shows these days:

Gossip Girl. My guilty pleasure. I think I like it so much because it is SO far fetched from the life I lead in high school. And of course there is Nate, ahhhh.

Glee. Of course! I actually had to Netflix this one because of all the good things I had heard after the show had already aired. I know have both soundtracks and CAN'T wait for it to start again!

Grey's Anatomy. It's been a staple since college. Heather has to make sure I am all caught up so we can discuss it. I heard Izzy is leaving the show. Just as well- her drama is starting to annoy me. And she was really bad in The Ugly Truth.

Brothers & Sisters. I think this show is great! I love the big family and all the drama. Reminds me why I love having a big family. I hear Rob Lowe is leaving though, and that makes me sad. I really like him!! And Justin is great eye candy :)

Weeds. I recently Netflixed all 5 seasons of Weeds and absolutely loved it. I think Nancy Botwin is one crazy lady, yet always somehow pulls it together and I am constantly impressed with her. I also am 99% sure I saw Silas Botwin working out at the Athletic Club where I work last week. Yes, my desk overlooks the weightroom.

Damages. I got hooked on Damages when I was living at home with my parents. It's weird not watching it with them anymore. I really have not met many people, actually I can't think of any, who watch this show. SO underrated. Glenn Close is amazing. Every episode leaves me wanting more, as cliche as that is. The twists and turns are pretty freaking creative.

And then there is always the indulgent MTV series of RR/RW Challenge, The Hills, The City, The Real World that always sucks me in.

In conclusion, it's really easy to keep up with tv, even without a tv :)

Chicago Here I Come!

Today I booked my flight for Memorial Day Weekend in Chicago! My dear friend and sorority sister, Katelyn will be tying the knot in July, so we are taking her out on the town to celebrate for her Bachelorette party! I have never been to Chicago before, so I am very excited to get the full experience!

Springtime in the Rockies

There is a saying here in Colorado that goes: "if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes" because of its drastic and frequent changes. Well, the weather was great yesterday (even though I spent all day inside at my desk), and I liked it. It finally felt like spring! Today I woke up to 6 inches of snow. It's still snowing and supposed to for the next few days across the whole state.

I don't mind the snow. I actually love the snow. Hence the reason I live in Colorado. But when it ruins travel and weekend plans, it can be a damper. The good news is that it will be an epic powder day tomorrow on the slopes. I was supposed to go to Denver to see Lu (yahoo for living in the same state!!) and her friend Megan who is (fingers crossed) flying in for the weekend. It's not looking good to make the trek to the Front Range.

Sooo, I will enjoy the rest of the day watching the white stuff fall, and be thankful that I work indoors today. Gotta love springtime in the Rockies!

Jumping on the Bandwagon!

I have thought about starting a blog for sometime now and decided to take the plunge today! While at work, I find myself habitually checking the 4-5 blogs I follow everyday, anxiously awaiting new posts. Here are my faves: Heather, Erin, Calvine, and The Cutest Neice in the Whole World. And even though I don't really have anything major in my life going on, or a creative theme, this blog will just be a compilation of my ramblings :)

Last night of course St. Patty's day had to be celebrated. As soon as 5 o'clock hit, we were ready for our Irish Car Bombs. We then headed into town to see a Sublime cover band, 40 oz. to Freedom. Great show. I wish I was still in bed. And I have to babysit tonight. For 8 kids. Ugh. Luckily, my sidekick Alison will be with me to endure the pain. Oh well, the cash is good for my travel fund!

Aaaand it's lunch time. Pretty much the best time of the day. We like to read our horoscopes and then I do the Sudoku in the daily local paper.
